A New Innovative Bike Rack System
For a rapidly increasing amount of people across the country, bicycling is becoming a way of life. Whether they are commuting to work, running errands, or trying to stay in shape, bicyclists know that their bikes provide them a clean, sustainable alternative to automotive transportation. According to the National Household Travel Survey, 9 million bike trips occurred in the United States every day in 2009, and USA Today reported last year that, over the last decade, biking to work has increased by 60 percent. People are riding bikes in record numbers, and because of this, bicyclists need the peace of mind that comes with knowing their bike is as safe as possible even when they have to leave it publicly unattended. Our Rack-iT bicycle racks provide that peace of mind, and do so with an unprecedented artistic flair.
Historically, bike racks have taken on relatively uniform, unappealing designs. The hoop rack is a singular, horseshoe-shaped metal bar that secures two bikes per unit. The round rack performs the exact same function as the hoop rack, differing solely in its aesthetic (it’s circular). Rolling racks, available in varying lengths to accommodate several bikes, are merely a single metal bar that curves to form a series of hoop racks. More uncommon designs include a “bike” bike rack—a bike rack shaped like a bike—and a “helix” rack, which takes the form of the spiraling helix, a spring-like shape. Although they are capable of housing different numbers of bicycles depending on the model, one commonality shared by all of these units is a push toward a progressive, artistic aesthetic that is as arresting as it is functional; another commonality is that they all fall short of the unique, artistic design and elite security achieved by the Rack-iT bike rack system.
